Martha grew up in Ontario and began her social work career in the UK. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Laurentian University (2013) and a Master of Social Work from University of Toronto (2024). She has worked in various hospital settings and in hospice care, supporting patients and their families to navigate changing health and care needs, end-of-life planning, caregiver stress and complex family dynamics.
Martha has completed postgraduate studies in the psychology and neuroscience of mental health (King’s College London, 2018) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT; Oxford University, 2020). In her counselling she draws on several therapeutic approaches including CBT, Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness and strengths-based interventions. She has additional training in Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD).
Martha supports clients with various mental health concerns, as well as those facing life transitions, questions around identity, and grief/loss. She also facilitates mental health trainings for non-profit organizations in Saskatoon. Martha works from a trauma-informed approach with an emphasis on acceptance and self-compassion.
Outside of work, Martha enjoys chasing after her three small children, cycling, and spending time at the family cabin.
